President Trump was upbeat and confident at the Thursday daily virus briefing from the White House. He went as far as to say that certain states could reopen as early as Friday, though the specifics on the reopenings would be up to governors.

The president also expressed hope for the future, “At some point after the virus we will get back to normal.” He was generous in his praise of his team and state governors, though he did say that “there were a couple of governors who got too much credit.”

Trump’s timing seems to be perfect for this move, as residents of many states are chafing under the virus restrictions.

Dr. Anthony Fauci was also confident about the situation saying, “I think we are going to be in pretty good shape by the time we get to the fall.”

The president, now that the U.S. need is dwindling, expressed a willingness to significantly help other nations with ventilators, perhaps setting up a Marshall Plan-like effort to get vital ventilators to foreign nations in need.
