Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice —a product of the Obama administration— accused the United States of “race-baiting” after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo referred to coronavirus as the “Wuhan virus.”

The pandemic, of course, originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, prompting some to refer to it by its origin: either the “Chinese virus” or the aforementioned “Wuhan virus.”

Rice, in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, claimed Pompeo’s description was “shameful” and “designed to stigmatize people of Asian descent.”

Divisive?

“Andrea, it’s shameful,” asserted Rice. “For the United States to be race-baiting and to be— a virus which never has a flag, can’t have a flag as being the provenance of one country is designed to be divisive.”

“It’s designed to stigmatize people of Asian descent,” she claimed, “and it’s not the way the leadership of the United States, the Secretary of State and the President of the United States ought to be behaving in the best of times, but certainly not in a crisis.”

Isn’t it amazing that during a time of crisis for our nation, a time when most Americans come together to help each other out during difficult circumstances, that Democrats still see an opportunity to divide by playing the baseless race card?

Rice is the Race-Baiter

Sure, a virus may not have a flag, but it certainly has an origin. Otherwise, the United States wouldn’t have tried to slow the spread of the coronavirus by restricting travel to and from…China. If she’s this angry over terminology for a virus, imagine how ticked Rice will be when she finds out a national security adviser once lied to an entire nation over why four Americans were killed in a terrorist attack.

Rice, aside from claiming Pompeo is racist, also attacked President Trump for daring to criticize PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor by saying —you guessed it— he’s a racist.

Trump Tells Reporter ‘Be Nice’

Rice was responding to a story involving Alcindor and the president. Alcindor asked a question Trump viewed as negative to which he responded, “Don’t be threatening. Don’t be threatening. Be nice.” The PBS reporter herself suggested that attitude from the president was due to her gender and skin color.

“President Trump today at the White House said to me: ‘Be nice. Don’t be threatening.'” she tweeted. “I’m not the first human being, woman, black person or journalist to be told that while doing a job.”

“You go, girl. Pathetic when insecure men can’t stomach strong black women,” Rice told Alcindor. Of course, President Trump has spent time blasting several media members for their negative coverage of the coronavirus, including CNN‘s Jim Acosta and NBC‘s Peter Alexander. At last check, neither Acosta nor Alexander can be considered “strong black women.”
