Ted Cruz eviscerates MSNBC host who attempted to compare coronavirus stimulus to AOC’s Green New Deal

Sorry, $800 billion is not equal to $93 trillion...even on MSNBC.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) just gave an MSNBC anchor a free lesson in math when the leftwing television personality tried to use President Donald Trump’s coronavirus stimulus package to justify the price tag of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) Green New Deal.

It all started when MSNBC’s Chris Hayes took to Twitter to respond to reports that President Trump was trying to get approval for a nearly trillion-dollar stimulus package from Congress to deal with the affects of the coronavirus pandemic.

“BREAKING: We can, of course, afford a Green New Deal. That’s been true all along,” Hayes wrote.

The Green New Deal is Ocasio-Cortez’s infamous plan to fight global warming that involves completely reorganizing the American economy as well as society as a whole.

Cruz, however, was not having any of what Hayes was saying, and he pointed out that the cost of Ocasio-Cortez’s plan is far more than what Trump is trying to secure for his package.

“$800 billion is not equal to $93 trillion. Even on MSNBC,” Cruz said.

Ocasio-Cortez herself has admitted that the Green New Deal would cost $10 trillion, but a study published last year concluded that it would actually cost upwards of $93 trillion.

“I don’t think anyone wants to spend that amount of money,” Ocasio-Cortez admitted last June, according to The Blaze, “it’s not a fun number to say, I’m not excited to say we need to spend $10 trillion on climate, but… it’s just the fact of the scenario.”

Despite the fact that Cruz has exposed the fact that Hayes’ tweet is full of lies, the host has yet to delete or correct it. This just goes to show that MSNBC and the rest of the mainstream media are not interested in facts these days, as they will do and say anything to attack Trump, even if it means resorting to blatant lies.

Thank goodness we have patriots like Senator Cruz around to call out the fake news media on their nonsense.
