Failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is already trying to use coronavirus for her own political gain, as she’s calling on Congress to “make voting by mail the norm” with “free postage” because of the pandemic.
“Congress needs to act to make voting by mail the norm going forward, with the specifics outlined by election expert Marc Elias below to make it accessible for all,” Clinton tweeted on Wednesday.

Clinton isn’t the only Democrat calling for this, as Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) made the same demand.
“Over the past several weeks, elections officials throughout Arizona have worked under extraordinary conditions to put on a fair, free, and safe Presidential Preference Election,” she tweeted. “Today, I’m asking Arizona legislators to authorize all-mail elections for August and November.”
We wholeheartedly agree, @SecretaryHobbs, and we already have a bill by @seanbowie that would do just that. Let’s work with @FannKfann to send it straight to the floor and fast track this important legislation. Read the bill here: https://t.co/KMOcluzpEK

Republicans, however, are skeptical of these calls, according to Breitbart News. Many on the Right are reminded of the words of then-President-elect Barack Obama’s incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel in 2008: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”
Many states do allow voting by mail, but Republicans have warned that the system in California is vulnerable to fraud. In that state, Democrats legalized a system called “ballot harvesting,” in which unverified third parties can deliver each other’s ballots. This allows party organizers to bring thousands of ballots to be counted themselves.
Clinton herself knows just how valuable voting by mail can be. During the 2016 primaries, she was considered to be virtually tied with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) before she was able to win by a few points, largely due to mailed-in ballots.

The fact that Clinton and her fellow Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus already when our nation is still in the midst of an unprecedented crisis is truly reprehensible. It shows once again that they will do literally anything to take down Donald Trump and gain power for themselves. Now is the time for unity, not for political games designed to solely benefit Democrats. The Left really does never let a serious crisis go to waste.
