CNN’s Chris Cuomo has tested positive for coronavirus, but will continue to present his show from his basement, quarantined away from his family.
Chris Cuomo: “I Just Hope I Didn’t Give it to the Kids”
“Sooooo in these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus,” Cuomo wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. “I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fever, chills and shortness of breath. I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness.”
He is currently self-quarantining in his basement away from the rest of his family, and will continue to present his show from there.

The last time Cuomo was at CNN’s offices in New York was last Friday, and he had already been presenting from his basement before he tested positive for the coronavirus.
Governor Cuomo: “There’s a Lesson in This”
His brother, Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York, said in a press statement that this shows the coronavirus is “the great equalizer.”
“My brother Chris, is positive for coronavirus. I found out this morning. He is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong, not as strong as he thinks, but he will be fine,” he said.
Governor Cuomo went on to warn that his brother’s case was a cautionary tale.
“But there’s a lesson in this, he’s an essential worker, remember the press, so he’s been out there. If you go out there, the chance that you get infected is very high,” he continued.

Unlike those on the left who gloat about their political opponents falling ill, I wish Cuomo a speedy recovery. The coronavirus is affecting all of us – it doesn’t care whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, a liberal or a conservative, and we have to fight it together.
