‘When Our Daily Life Is Full of God, It Is Full of Purpose and Joy’

When we have a relationship with God, our daily life is filled with a higher purpose, a deeper joy — and a more profound wisdom than we ever imagined possible.

How do we attain this fulfilling path that distinguishes us from those who are just living each day to survive or for the next rush of pleasure?

God’s Word says, “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2:24-26).

Our most fulfilling destiny is attained by pleasing God.

How is it possible to find our greatest pleasure — when we are pleasing God?

It goes back to our design.

The Bible makes it clear that God created man in His image (Genesis 1:26-27) and for His glory (Isaiah 43:7).

Thus, we cannot ever find complete satisfaction unless we are living for God’s glory.

King Solomon, who wrote Ecclesiastes, tried — and he failed.

He concluded that to have the fullness of life, God must be at the center.

Otherwise our life is unsatisfied.

How do we live pleasing God?

It is by loving Him.

When we live giving Him our whole heart, He gives us His joy, purpose, strength, and wisdom.

God thought about the purpose for each one of us a long time before we were even born.

The Psalmist wrote, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them” (Psalms‬ ‭139:16).

When our daily life is full of God, it is full of purpose and joy — the kind that lasts forever.
