The Goodness of God Can Transform Our Lives — If We Have Faith

Bible is filled with references to 'perfect gifts' that come to us 'from above' — in a tough world, let's remind ourselves of this

God’s goodness satisfies and continually transforms our life.

God’s goodness is of such magnitude that it’s difficult for us to sufficiently describe.

Yet it’s so powerful that when we experience it, we know we are completely satisfied.

This soul-satisfaction works powerful transformation. As the Psalmist wrote, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness” (Psalms‬ ‭107:8-9‬).

The most satisfying aspect of God’s goodness to me has not been possessions, sustenance, or health.

Rather, it’s been the gift of His presence — which, as the Psalmist says, “satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness!”

Becoming satisfied by God means we learn to know Him well enough that we recognize that all goodness comes from Him.

We need to “taste and see” that God is good (Psalms 34:8).

You never know how good Mama’s pie is until it’s in your mouth — right?

Well, when you think about the goodness in your life, would any of it be possible without God?

Doesn’t that knowledge spark the thought that if good things are so fabulous to us — how much more incredible is the One who created it all?

When we seek Him with all our heart, His presence permeates our soul.

God’s Word is replete with references to His goodness. The Bible says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James‬ ‭1:17‬).

Everything good that we admire and appreciate comes from God.

When we begin to acknowledge this truth, then God’s goodness becomes personal and is one of the most powerful forces drawing us away from the destruction of sin.

When we seek Him with all our heart, His presence permeates our soul.

We know we are loved. We know who we are. And we live like we are valued.

God’s love for us is the greatest goodness we’ll ever experience.
