Pelosi Calls Out Supreme Court, Says New Ruling on Wall ‘Undermines’ Our Constitution
House speaker, showing clear bias, declares president is being permitted to 'steal military funds' for border barrier
Though she was all smiles early on Friday afternoon during a high-profile photo op with freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), House Speaker Nancy Pelsoi (D-Calif.) was not a happy person a few hours later.
She put out a defiant statement late on Friday slamming the latest decision by the Supreme Court of the United States.
The high court sided with the Trump administration on Friday on a key issue.
The 5-4 ruling allows the administration to use Pentagon funds of $2.5 billion to build the wall on the southern border of the U.S.
The decision, which split along ideological lines, permits the Trump administration “to move ahead with plans to use military funds to replace existing fencing in California, Arizona and New Mexico with more robust fencing,” as Fox News noted about some of the details.

Pelosi, who did not get her way, is clearly furious President Donald Trump scored this win. It occurred in the same week former special counsel Robert Mueller appeared before House Democrats at their insistence — he did not want to do it — to discuss the report he wrapped up some time ago now.
“Our Founders created a democracy, not a monarchy,” the speaker’s statement — dated Saturday, July 27, 2019 — about the new SCOTUS ruling began.
“The Constitution forbids the president from spending funds that were not appropriated by the Congress.”
“It is a shame [Trump] has to go through all of this red tape to get what is necessary to make our country safe,” said one American citizen about the ruling.
“For months, the president has sought to undermine our military readiness and steal from our men and women in uniform to waste billions on a wasteful, ineffective wall that Congress on a bipartisan basis has repeatedly refused to fund,” she also said.
“The Supreme Court’s decision [on Friday] to allow President Trump to defy the bipartisan will of the Congress and proceed with contracts to spend billions of dollars on his wall undermines the Constitution and the law.”
“House Democrats will continue to fight to uphold our Constitution and protect our democracy as the case continues on appeal,” she finished.
She also put out this tweet on the matter, just ahead of the August recess (lawmakers will be off for 45 days).
This evening’s Supreme Court ruling allowing @realDonaldTrump to steal military funds to spend on a wasteful, ineffective border wall rejected by Congress is deeply flawed. Our Founders designed a democracy governed by the people — not a monarchy.

Rep. Raul M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.) called Trump’s emergency declaration a “pathetic attempt to circumvent Congress.” His 3rd congressional district — the second largest in Arizona — runs along the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Trump’s fake emergency was nothing more than a pathetic ploy to circumvent Congress and build his monument to his racist policies. This fight is not over, and I will continue fighting Trump’s efforts to destroy our environment and militarize border communities. #NoBorderWall,” he declared on Twitter soon after the ruling came down.
While other reaction to the news is still coming in, the president himself weighed in on Friday evening.
He shared this tweet:
Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!

Readers of LifeZette have been making their views known since late yesterday.
One reader said of the SCOTUS ruling, “I see signs of common sense. Thank you.”
Another person believes that “our police, ICE, military — every branch — could use a raise. [There should be] absolutely no raises for anyone in Congress — 0 percent.”
Yet another person commented, “It is a shame [Trump] has to go through all of this red tape to get what is necessary to make our country safe.”
Many anti-Trump liberal actors reacted with vehemence on Twitter, as this statement from former “Star Trek” actor George Takei shows:
A reminder, Donald, as you gloat about a 5-4 SCOTUS decision allowing the transfer of billions of funds from the military to your twisted border wall:
YOU REPEATEDLY PROMISED MEXICO WOULD PAY FOR IT.
American taxpayers are not Mexico, you lying, racist bag of horse dung.

.@POTUS @realDonaldTrump is committed to securing our border – in spite of the vehement opposition from Speaker Pelosi & her open-borders allies. Tonight's ruling by #SCOTUS will allow the Trump administration to construct additional miles of wall along our southern border. pic.twitter.com/QZVInrXcQd
