Ocasio-Cortez Is Misinformed About Border Detention Facility
Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, head of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, saw a 'drastically different' scenario than the New York Democrat did
To be fair, you don’t have to travel anywhere to come to the conclusion that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is misinformed. That’s proven every time she opens her mouth, in our view.
At a press briefing on Monday, Hispanic pastors who had toured the same border facility that Ocasio-Cortez and her contingent did recently came to a vastly different conclusion about the conditions.
The New York Democrat emerged from her visit with a number of dubious claims, among them that she had to “force” her way into a “cell” to speak with those detained at the facility; that she witnessed women who were forced to drink water out of toilets; and that she feared for her personal safety among the brutish border patrol officers.
Rev. Samuel Rodriguez is president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. He toured the same exact facility — and said that what he and a fellow group of pastors saw was “drastically different.”
The group traveled to a Texas border protection facility after reports emerged that conditions there were deplorable.
“To my surprise, I saw something drastically different from the stories I’ve been hearing in our national discourse,” Rodriguez reported.
“We found no soiled diapers, no deplorable conditions, and no lack of basic necessities,” Rodriguez said. “We toured the entire facility.”

You mean to tell us that AOC … lied? Say it ain’t so!
Rodriguez said the politicians and agenda-driven doctors who visited the facility were simply misinformed.
“Even as a veteran of immigration advocacy in the U.S., I was shocked at the misinformation of the crisis at the border,” Rodriguez stated.
The Democrats’ fabricated claims about these facilities are sickening. Does anyone actually believe border patrol officials threatened a congresswoman and forced women to drink out of toilets in front of lawmakers?
No agenda here. Rodriguez has been an adviser to President Donald Trump and former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on immigration reform. His agenda isn’t political — it involves solving the humanitarian crisis at the border.
AOC, on the other hand, has different motivations, as Fox News noted: “In fact, some [people] told [Rodriguez] the sources from whom the negative coverage originated ‘never toured the areas of the facility that we toured’ and speculated they might have had political motivations.”
You mean Ocasio-Cortez placed her perceived moral values above facts?
The anti-ICE, anti-intellect Democrat socialist was recently caught sharing “staged” photos showing her weeping and collapsing in horror as she stared at an empty parking lot at another migrant detention facility.
Rodriguez has implored the president and both Democrats and Republicans in Congress to work toward an immigration solution. He also seeks to convey that border patrol agents “care about these kids and have a passion for [their] calling.”
