Michelle Obama May Have Just Taken a Pot Shot at President Donald Trump
After the commander-in-chief called out those who hate this country, former first lady said this to her followers — appropriate?
This is curious — but not unexpected.
The former first lady put out a tweet on Friday that appears to take a swing at President Donald Trump.
The context is the ongoing sparring match between the president and the members of the Democratic “squad” over the past week — a group that refuses to acknowledge the legitimacy of the Trump presidency, for starters.
All four have also made statements against this country.
Michelle Obama wrote in part: “What truly makes our country great is its diversity.”
“I’ve seen that beauty in so many ways over the years. Whether we are born here or seek refuge here, there’s a place for us all,” she also said.
Here’s her full tweet:
What truly makes our country great is its diversity. I’ve seen that beauty in so many ways over the years. Whether we are born here or seek refuge here, there’s a place for us all. We must remember it’s not my America or your America. It’s our America.

Conservatives are already pushing back on this — including Fox News host Laura Ingraham of “The Ingraham Angle.”
She tweeted, in part, “And the asylees (MS 13 members) who killed in California? The 331 illegals who raped and assaulted kids in NC?”

The Friday remarks are not the first time the former first lady seemingly has gone after Trump.
“The leader of the free world with a tweet can start a war, can crush an economy, can change the future of our children,” she declared earlier this month to Gayle King of CBS News during the Essence Festival in New Orleans.
Mrs. Obama pointedly added that the next president, whoever that individual might be, needs to have, in her view, “deep seriousness and focus” — and should operate “with a clear base of facts and ideas.”
She also said she believes her own husband, Barack Obama, sometimes made the presidency look easy.
“I guess it’s kind of like if the black guy can do it, anybody can do it — and that’s not true. It’s a hard job.”
