Little Molly Hughes is giving a boost to people many miles from where she lives — and she doesn’t even know it.

What a wonderful story to learn about as springtime hope and fresh beginnings beckon — and Easter’s promises, too, lie within reach.

A mother of four sons in New York said this story “gave me an amazing boost on a Friday morning. We all have pains, strains and challenges of all kinds, and we tend to wallow in our own misery. Yet this little kid is now cancer free after a tremendous fight. If that doesn’t put things in perspective, I don’t know what does.”

Molly Hughes of Kentucky, who is only 21 months old, beat cancer after her doctors diagnosed stage 4 neuroblastoma when she was nearly five months old, reported WBKO, an ABC affiliate.

“I kinda just fell to the ground after I got off the phone and I just hugged for her like five minutes,” her mom, Chelsea Hughes, told the station after she learned her daughter was cancer-free after 15 months of grueling cancer treatment and the end of five rounds of chemotherapy.

The child spent 130 nights in the hospital during her ordeal.

Now, however, “she loves being outside from the time she gets up ’til she goes to bed, she’s just wild,” her mother also said. “So full of energy and just loves doing what a baby should be doing.”

Her mother also said that prayers from so many people have helped the child — and allowed the family get through the hardest of times.

“We just can’t thank everybody enough for praying for her and supporting us through all of this,” the mom told WBKO.

Yes, this story sets little Molly Hughes apart from many other kids.

Ah, but there are still a few challenges yet.

The little girl has lost some hearing as a result of her treatment, the station reported. So she’ll return to the hospital on Monday and will start a drug trial “for two years that will help prevent relapse.”

That isn’t stopping the child from being a toddler this spring — and doing everything that active, healthy toddlers do.

“OH HAPPY DAY!!!! Molly has some BIG news to share!!!” her mom posted on Facebook (her extra exclamation points are truly justified here). “Her scans were clear & showed no evidence of disease!! (NED!!!) There is NO active cancer left in her little body!!”

“Please continue to pray that the cancer stays away forever!”

“Our God is SO good!!!” she also wrote. “Thank you all for the prayers!!!!”

“Please continue to pray that the cancer stays away forever!!”

What a story of overcoming tough times — inspiration for all as spring begins.

“It truly gave me a lift when I found out about it,” said the New York mom of four boys. “It will forever.”

“And just look at that child’s face. What a trooper!”
