Late-Night Hosts Go After the College Admissions Scandal: From ‘Full House’ to the Big House

Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and others took swipes at the latest travesty

The FBI’s so-called “Operation Varsity Blues” has landed a great many people in hot water — but the two most recognizable faces involved in the operation are “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman and “Full House” star Lori Loughlin.

The sting targeted 33 parents who allegedly paid large bribes to get their children into top colleges across the country.

Late-night hosts ate up the story — it was a topic in virtually all of their Tuesday night monologues.

“The Late Late Show” host James Corden joked that Loughlin could be headed from “‘Full House’ to ‘The Big House.'”

Stephen Colbert declared this is not the first time Loughlin has been involved in a major scandal.

“Back in the ’90s, Loughlin was part of a notorious scheme where they made a pair of twins pretend to be one person,” he said. “No one knew.”

The joke was a reference to Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen — twins who played the same character on the original run of “Full House.”

The series has continued in Netflix’s “Fuller House,” on which Loughlin is a recurring cast member.

Seth Meyers joked that Huffman and Loughlin are now “headed back to TV.”

“Well, it looks like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are heading back to TV,” the comedian said. He then showed a graphic of both actresses in orange jumpsuits on a poster for Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black” — which is set in a women’s prison.

Meyers continued, “It’s the worst thing Felicity Huffman’s ever done, and the second worst thing Lori Loughlin has [done],” he said, suggesting that “Fuller House” was a greater insult than the crime Loughlin is accused of today.

Jimmy Kimmel also tackled the college scandal — but he was in a more awkward position, as one of his guests on Tuesday night was Loughlin’s longtime co-star Bob Saget.

The two have starred together in “Full House” and “Fuller House.”

Kimmel avoided bringing up Loughlin in his Saget interview, but he went after the actress in his monologue.

“They’re saying this could be the Becky with the Good Hair that Beyoncé warned us about,” Kimmel said, referencing a Beyoncé song and Loughlin’s role as Aunt Becky on “Full House.”

Jimmy Fallon managed to tackle the scandal briefly on his show without ever mentioning Huffman’s or Loughlin’s names.

“Did you guys hear about this? Today, the FBI arrested a bunch of parents who paid other people to take the SAT and ACT for their kids,” said Fallon. “Then 99 percent of the NFL and NBA were like, ‘Yeah, that’s crazy.'”

He sarcastically said both sports leagues are probably asking right now, “Who would do that?”
