‘SNL’ Cast Member Trashes Kanye West for Pro-Trump Speech

Kanye West spoke his mind during his “Saturday Night Live” appearance over the weekend — and some of the show’s cast are not too happy about it.

The pro-Trump rapper sported a Make America Great Again hat during his final performance of the night and went off-script with a political speech that defended both conservatives and President Donald Trump.

Longtime “SNL” cast member Kenan Thompson (pictured above left) ripped into the right-leaning artist for it during a Monday night appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

“He voiced his opinion, very loudly, for a long time,” Thompson said.“We’re all entitled to our opinion, but you know, I don’t know if that’s the moment, necessarily, to hold people hostage like that — but hey.”

The comedian continued, “As soon as he said, ‘Hey, join me up on stage, everybody,’ I was like, ‘Oh, there goes the little cheese in the mouse trap.’ It’s going down. I felt so bad for those guys, because it’s hard to stand there and not be able to debate somebody who’s going so far against, you know, your personal opinion and just stand there and take it.”

So what exactly did West say that was so controversial?

He said that 90 percent of news is liberal — and gave his honest political opinion.

“The blacks weren’t always Democrats,” West said. “You know it’s like the plan they [Democrats] did, to take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan. There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘how could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”

Unfortunately for viewers of the show, “SNL” cut West off and his speech never made it to the airwaves — but it did surface online thanks to West’s producing partner Mike Dean.

One has to wonder: How would “SNL” and its cast members have handled this situation if West were espousing left-wing talking points and bashing Republicans and Trump?

Odds are, Thompson would not have said anything negative about it and the show would have not only aired West’s speech — but embraced it.

After all, “SNL” has Alec Baldwin portray President Trump in an aggressively negative manner nearly every week. The show constantly attacks the president’s administration, attacks that have included fat-shaming White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The program even had a Stormy Daniels cameo last season to mock the president and a song begging former President Barack Obama to come back to the White House — just in case the show’s political agenda was not clear enough.
