MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough (pictured above right) rebuked fellow mainstream media members Wednesday for their “one-sided” and “so biased” coverage of sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“The media coverage of this has been so one-sided. It has been so biased. There has been the presumption from the very beginning that every single allegation made against the judge was true,” Scarborough said. “And I say this again as somebody, who said before the allegations, I didn’t think he should be on the Supreme Court.”

Scarborough, who has made no secret of his disdain for President Donald Trump and his policies, said he was frustrated with how his media peers have covered and approached the allegations leveled against Kavanaugh just days before his confirmation vote had been scheduled.

While mainstream media coverage has been unmistakably slanted against Kavanaugh, reporters and pundits alike have been reluctant to question the inconsistencies and troubling aspects of Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony and account of what happened.

Ford became the first woman publicly to accuse Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her some 36 years ago during a high school gathering in suburban Maryland. Two other women, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick, came forward in the days following Ford’s September 16 accusation.

“This is what happened during the run-up to the Trump election. Nobody would even consider the possibility that Donald Trump might win, and so they were shocked by it.”

All of their allegations are largely uncorroborated, and Kavanaugh has flatly denied the accusations.

Both Ford and Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary last week, and their testimonies both were widely viewed as compelling and credible.

Scarborough lamented that the questions raised concerning Ford’s allegations weren’t really covered “in 24/7 news coverage” by the media.

“They won’t talk about it. They feel that if anybody sticks their neck out and says that they disbelieve any part of her story or if they talk about how there are no corroborating witnesses, they will get absolutely slammed,” he said.

Scarborough warned that the biased media coverage against Kavanaugh echoed the same mistakes outlets made during the 2016 presidential election, when they dismissed Trump’s chances of victory against 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“This is what happened during the run-up to the Trump election. Nobody would even consider the possibility that Donald Trump might win, and so they were shocked by it,” he said, warning that the media have “also given Donald Trump a massive opening because they have been so one-sided on this story that it allows him to light dynamite and blow the whole thing up.”

Even co-host Mika Brzezinski (above left) agreed with Scarborough, saying, “The story should speak for itself. Even in the world of opinion television, we should just cover it.”

After Brzezinski attempted to move on to another topic, Scarborough interrupted to launch into another tirade against mainstream media outlets.

“I have turned on all networks at all times, and Brett Kavanaugh has been accused of being a serial rapist by columnists in national newspapers, calling him a serial rapist,” Scarborough said. He insisted the media have “dropped the ball on this from the very beginning and they’ve been biased, they’ve been one-sided.”

“And they’re once again, just like with Trump being elected, going be shocked by what they see in the polls,” he predicted.
