Country star Willie Nelson wants to smoke pot with President Donald Trump.

During a Wednesday night interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Nelson, a longtime advocate for pot legalization, was asked whether he would want to get high with various public figures.

Shown pictures of Meryl Streep, Snoop Dogg, Yo-Yo Ma, Barack Obama, and Vladimir Putin, Nelson said he’d love to share a joint with each and every one of them.

The picture he seemed most interested in, though, was that of President Donald Trump.

“Oh, ya. He needs one [a joint] bad,” Nelson said after being shown a picture of Trump. “That could be good for him.”

Nelson has found himself in hot water with some fans recently for his endorsement of Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke, who is running against Sen. Ted Cruz.

The Democrat is the first politician for whom Nelson has officially stumped. He will be headlining an upcoming event for O’Rourke.

Nelson’s support for the Democrat led to some fans’ calling for a boycott of the country singer.

Nelson responded to the backlash in a recent interview on “The View” by saying it didn’t bother him all that much.

“I don’t care,” the country singer said about conservative fans being upset with him.

He added, “You know, they’re entitled to their opinions, and I’m entitled to mine.”

It’s not just fans turning on Nelson for pushing leftist politics. Rocker Ted Nugent, who is an open conservative, also criticized the “Always on My Mind” singer.

“Heartbreakingly a lifetime of comfortably numb allows the brain & soul to abandon American & Texas values. Now Willie & his hippie gang joins the America/Texas/freedom hating loony left that wants to abolish borders, allow non/anti Americans to vote, provide sanctuary for criminals, abolish ICE, ban & confiscate guns, support invaders, welcome MS13 monsters, overtax productive Americans into oblivion & hasten our helldive into the new Venezuala. And you still think getting high is a victimless crime! WTF Willie! Crush this goofball & his commie sidekick Beto!” Nugent wrote in a recent Facebook post.
