Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Slammed for Wearing $3,500 Designer Suit to Photo Shoot

The Democrat from New York seems to enjoy a lifestyle that only capitalism can produce, said these co-hosts

The Fox News morning program “Fox & Friends” called out Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York after she recently participated in an expensive photo shoot.

While Ocasio-Cortez claims to be a socialist, the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts pointed out that she certainly seems to enjoy the lifestyle that only capitalism can produce.

“And then there is this. The rising star of the Democratic Party has expensive tastes for a socialist. For a photo shoot for Interview magazine, her pantsuit — appropriate — retail[ed for] more than $2,800 alone. And the shoes — $600 bucks,” said guest co-host Katie Pavlich on the Saturday program.

“I mean, I want a pair of $600 shoes. I think she should redistribute … hypocrisy at its best,” she said.

“It’s tough being a socialist. It really is,” joked co-host Pete Hegseth.

The “Fox & Friends” hosts over the weekend weren’t the only ones calling out Ocasio-Cortez, however.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk had some scathing criticism of his own to share.

“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who pretends to be a champion of the people and believes [that] unemployment went down because were taking two jobs, just posed in a photoshoot with a $3,500 outfit, $625 shoes all while saying the rich have too much power and that socialism hasn’t been tried,” tweeted Kirk this past Friday.

Ocasio-Cortez decided to respond to Kirk, point for point for point.

She tweeted out this message: “A) The alt-right doesn’t seem to understand the concept of magazine shoots. B) You don’t get to keep the clothes, duh. C) I don’t ‘pretend’ to fight for a Living Wage & Medicare for All. I do it. D) Get used to me slaying lewks because I am an excellent thrift shopper,” she tweeted.

While many appreciated the comments by Ocasio-Cortez against Kirk, others fought back on this — claiming that she missed the point of it all.

“I am an excellent thrift shopper,” the Democratic socialist tweeted out.

“Ok @Ocasio2018_ Problem Understanding? let me help. a) @charliekirk11 NEVER said the clothes were yours. b) the WHOLE point of his remark was the “WANNABE” champion of the People who’s claiming”RICH People have Too Much Power” like to be portrayed as ONE OF THEM! @IMSLAYINGTOO” wrote one user in response.
