Rock band Kiss will be kicking off a farewell tour next year.

The band announced the final tour after performing Wednesday night on “America’s Got Talent.” After playing “Detroit Rock City,” one of their most popular songs, the band teased the final tour.

“This is going to be our last tour,” said lead singer Gene Simmons. “It will be the most explosive, biggest show we’ve ever done. People who love us — come to see us. If you’ve never seen us — this is the time. This will be the show!”

Specific dates have yet to be announced, but this farewell tour has been expected for some time now. The band had recently filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to have the rights to the phrase “The End of the Road” in regard to “live performances by a musical band.”

This tour is now being teased through the band’s social media pages as the “End of the Road World Tour.”

This is not the band’s first “farewell” to fans. It had a farewell tour in 2000. Before that, it had a reunion tour in 1996, which presented the original band lineup — Gene Simmons (vocals, bass), Paul Stanley (guitar, vocals), Peter Criss (drums), and Ace Frehley (guitar) — for the first time since 1979.

The current band lineup — which includes Simmons, Stanley, Tommy Thayer (guitar), and Eric Singer (drums) — has been together since 2004.

Simmons is 69 years old and Stanley is 66. Stanley revealed earlier this year that he was interested in devoting more time to his family.

Kiss was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, and it remains one of the most in-demand rock bands around the world.

Farewell tours have been a growing trend with aging rockers as of late. Along with Kiss’ announcement, Elton John recently announced that he was embarking on a massive, years-long farewell tour. Plus, Bob Seger recently dropped news that he had a farewell tour in the works, too.
