At a Wednesday evening showing of “Frozen: The Broadway Musical,” actor Timothy Hughes (who plays the troll character Pabbie) took a “Trump 2020″ flag that an audience member was waving.

The flag appeared as the cast was taking its final bow to the audience.

Hughes swiped the flag from the audience member and hurled it behind the stage.

“What does it say about our country and politics when a man at the show tonight felt the need to protest Disney’s Frozen on Broadway with a pro Trump flag?? How frightening is it that our show’s messages of love, acceptance, and diversity have become the opposition to supporting Trump?” he later wrote on Instagram with video of the event.

“The curtain call is a thank you between actors and audience,” he also wrote, “a final connection to end a shared experience. I will not apologize for how I responded to the disrespectful man trying to interrupt this moment with a pathetic political platform. Not at our show! Not in front of my beautiful, diverse, talented cast at @frozenbroadway.”

Hughes also threw in a #resist hashtag at the end of his statement.

This is not the first time a Trump supporter has disrupted a Broadway play.

“A Bronx Tale,” which anti-Trumper Robert De Niro co-directed, had its final bow interrupted by a “Trump 2020” sign.

People likely heckled that play due to De Niro’s many vulgar rants against the president.

It’s unclear why a production of “Frozen” would be interrupted.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the cast of the popular musical “Hamilton” harassed Vice President Mike Pence when he and his wife attended a performance in late 2016.

The cast addressed Pence and pointed all attention to him. He politely listened and left.

These examples just go to show that Broadway is yet another corner of the world that cannot and does not escape political division.

“Frozen: The Broadway Musical” is based on the hit 2013 Disney animated feature. The film made over $400 million at the domestic box office and over $1.2 billion worldwide against a $150 million production budget.

The film starred Kristen Bell and Josh Gad. Actor Ciaran Hinds originated Hughes’ role.
