First lady Melania Trump wowed many with her latest fashion pick on Thursday, chosen for a black-tie dinner hosted by England’s Prime Minister Theresa May at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England.
While the president donned a black-and-white tuxedo for the dinner, Melania Trump wore a pale yellow chiffon grecian-style evening gown from French designer J. Mendel, as Fox News and others reported.
The dress was off-shoulder and had a wrapped bodice, long pleats and a delicate cape in matching yellow.
The first lady wore minimal jewelry and yellow stiletto heels.
The look was an immediate hit — the $6,990 ready-to-wear dress completely sold out on J. Mendel’s website, with its a lower price of $2,996, USA Today reported.
After Melania was photographed in the gown, several people posted raves on Twitter about the look — even comparing the first lady to a Disney princess.

Melania's yellow dress was simply amazing! I think she is the most beautiful FLOTUS we have ever had…and I thought Jackie Kennedy was stunning.

@jmendel Loved Melania’s gorgeous yellow dress for NATO. Congratulations.

Of course there must always be detractors of this first lady — (did they snipe at Michelle Obama this way?) — and people ripped into the fashion choice on social media.
Melania’s yellow dress…. umm… I’m not sure Disney Princess is quite the right look for the occasion ? (Yes, I’m dissing her outfit. I want to so I’m going to. Besides, honestly, can you even see anyone else standing beside her?)

Melania's dress looks ridiculous and old fashioned.
