Stephen Colbert responded late Tuesday night to Donald Trump’s referring to him as a “lowlife” at a South Carolina rally.

At the rally the other night, the president targeted Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon and asked, “I mean, honestly, are these people funny?”

Colbert did his best to deflect Trump’s criticisms by joking, “James Corden is very talented” — Corden is CBS’ other late-night host, one who does go nearly as political in his material as the Trump-obsessed Colbert.

“Oh, I’m being told he [Trump] was talking about me,” Colbert continued in his bit.

He then made an odd movement with his ear to “prove” to Trump that he had talent.

The late-night host then suggested Trump was afraid to say his name.

At this point, the president should just ignore Colbert. The liberal comedian has focused not only his entire show — but his entire career — around Trump. Responding to him only feeds the flames and gives him more material for his tired comedy bits.
