When Hillary Clinton took the stage at a campaign rally in Kissimmee, Florida, yesterday and gave tribute to the victims slaughtered just miles down the road by Omar Mateen, there was an unlikely supporter in the crowd cheering her on: Omar Mateen’s father.

Clinton started her speech by recognizing the massacre that she along with the Obama administration has attempted to label an act of hate rather than acknowledge the explicit link to radical Islamic terror. Mateen’s jihadist rampage in the Orlando nightclub killed 49 people.

“Hillary Clinton is good for the United States — versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions.”

Seddique Mateen, father of Omar Mateen, was spotted and interviewed by a local television crew.

When Mateen’s father was offered a chance to weigh in on the 2016 election and why he was at Hillary Clinton’s campaign rally, the terrorist’s father put it plainly: “Hillary Clinton is good for the United States — versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions,” Mateen said.

The Clinton campaign denied having any idea Mateen was sitting in such a prominent position — directly behind Clinton as she spoke.

“It’s a democratic party — anyone can join,” a Clinton spokesman said.

Reports after the Orlando shooting indicated Seddique Mateen had his own possible links to Islamism. Mateen was a member of the American Muslim Alliance, an organization that sponsored rallies and events supporting Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups.

WPTV asked Matten if he thought some might be surprised to see him there, in such close proximity to Orlando.

“Why should they be surprised? I love the United States, and I’ve been living here a long time,” he replied.

Mateen refused to discuss the ongoing investigation into his son’s Islamist massacre.

“We’ve been cooperating with the federal government,” Mateen told NBC affiliate WPTV, “and that’s about it. Thank you.”

The response highlights one of the lingering mysteries from the Mateen massacre: the whereabouts and possible criminal involvement of Mateen’s wife, Noor Salman. Salman was placed under house arrest following the massacre in Orlando, after she admitted she drove Mateen to the nightclub and had suspicions of his intentions.

Salman has since gone missing and law enforcement officials say they do not know her whereabouts.
