The 2016 election will bring many new voters to the voting booths. But not just any voters. Polling from Reuters shows 27.3 percent of these “new” voters will be supporting Donald Trump.

One of the most coveted resources in American electoral politics are “new” voters — including voters who are considered “lost” — they have not voted in years because they feel alienated and turned off by the two political parties. Now these voters are back, ready to cast a ballot. Here’s a look at a few who will be pulling the lever — or hitting the touchscreen, anyway — for Trump.

‘Finally, a people’s candidate’
David Henry, 46, of Atlanta is a lost voter.

“I haven’t voted since Bush-Gore,” he said. “Trump is the only candidate I’ve seen who can actually do the job. Even when we elect a Republican, they never do what we want. They just go along with the Democrats. I believe Trump will change that. Finally, a people’s candidate!”

Trump’s ability to attract voters like Henry is nothing short of remarkable. Campaign operatives often strive to reach these voters, but realize the risk that comes with the unreliability in their vote. In Trump’s case, they are flocking to him because of the realism and honest rhetoric he provides, and they are angry and excited enough to make their way out to the polls.

“My whole campaign has been focused on expanding the number of people who want to, and will, participate in this election cycle,” Trump wrote in a recent op-ed penned for USA Today.

There is no doubt that Trump is making these voters a primary focus of his campaign, reaching out to those who often feel unheard by politicians. Trump has sparked a fire in many Americans who are angry about their personal economic situation and the direction of the country, spurring them to take action.

‘I am excited to be voting for Mr. Trump’
Trump is attracting young, first-time voters such as Daniel Tucci, an 18-year-old college student in New Hampshire.

“This being the first election that I am eligible to vote in, I am excited to be voting for Mr. Trump,” said Tucci. “Had Mr. Trump not been running, I do not believe that I would vote. He energizes my peers in ways that none of the other candidates come close to doing.”

‘I’m Hispanic, never cared before, but plan to vote now’
For some, it is his candid rhetoric on illegal immigration. Carmen Ferguson, a 30-year-old Trump supporter, who has never voted before said, “I’m Hispanic, never cared before, but plan to vote now,” Ferguson said.

“I know so many stories of illegals, nobody has ever spoke about immigration like Trump! My family has struggled since 2015 when my husband lost his job. To this day we are still struggling. I believe he will help with getting jobs back, just the fact that nobody is giving him money — that is the main point for me and my family. I’m obsessed with politics this year, becoming a stay at home mom has made me realize how the USA is being destroyed,” she said.

‘I am fed up with the way that things have been going’
For others it’s the reality of the situation our country is in.

“There was a lot of excitement at the rally I attended at Concord High School in New Hampshire,” said Michael Farrelly, a 27-year-old Trump supporter. “Surprisingly, I also saw this excitement in my aunt, who attended the rally with me. The reason why I was so surprised was because my aunt, who is an independent but typically leans Democratic, showed enthusiasm and compassion for Mr. Trump’s ideas.”

After the rally, Farrelly asked his aunt what she thought and she said, “I am fed up with the way that things have been going with the Obama administration,” and that what Trump said today ‘just made sense to fix the problems facing America.'”

Americans are waking up and feeling optimistic for the first time in a long while, and Trump is the reason why.
