Vice President Joe Biden said Friday he wished he could revert back to his high school days so he could “take” Donald Trump “behind the gym” and fight the GOP nominee — but according to the media, it’s the Republican’s claim of a “rigged” election that is dangerous.

Speaking at a campaign rally for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Biden lashed out at Trump.

“No, I wish I were in high school so I could take him behind the gym, that’s what I wish.”

“The press said, ‘Don’t you wish you were debating him?'” Biden told the audience. “No, I wish I were in high school so I could take him behind the gym, that’s what I wish.”

Biden has been blunt in his critiques about Trump on Clinton’s behalf, repeatedly telling audiences Trump’s remarks constitute the “textbook definition of sexual assault.” Biden’s remarks beg the question of what the reaction of the media would be if a Republican suggested beating up a major figure of the opposing party.

The media went into full-blown frenzy in mid-September when Trump suggested Clinton’s security detail be relieved of their guns. Many in the professional punditry said the quip, meant to point out Clinton’s hypocrisy on gun control, amounted to a death threat.

The press have also collectively gone wild over Trump’s assertion that he’s up against a “rigged” system in the election.

“Trump’s talk of a ‘rigged’ election is dangerous demagoguery,” reads the headline on an Oct. 18 Los Angeles Times editorial.

The next day CNN ran this headline: “Why Trump’s talk of a rigged vote is so dangerous.”

Yet when it comes to joking about beating up the Republican nominee — the tone takes a softer turn.

“Does Joe Biden want to fight Donald Trump?” read the CNN headline Friday about Biden’s comments.

And while Biden may have been joking in Pennsylvania, an undercover video released this week by conservative activist group Project Veritas exposed some Democrats’ very real efforts to cause violence. The video features Democratic operatives casually discussing how they plant agitators at Trump rallies and events to cause incidents of violence.
