Belgium Bans Kosher, Halal Meat
The slaughter of “unstunned” animals was banned in the Wallooon region of Belgium — effectively outlawing kosher and halal meats. The ban, deemed “scandalous” by the European Jewish Congress, takes effect Sept. 1, 2019.
