During a Donald Trump rally in Melbourne, Florid this Saturday, the first lady opened with a prayer — specifically, the Our Father.
While the prayer was well-received by many conservative fans, liberals almost immediately took to social media to bash Melania Trump for reading the Lord’s Prayer off a piece of paper.
Taya Kyle, “American Sniper” Chris Kyle’s wife, defended Mrs. Trump: “I’m not critical of it. I think that we can criticize people for all sorts of things without remembering they’re human being in front of a large audience. It is intimidating, if people haven’t done it before. If she wants a read a prayer so she doesn’t mess it up, then bless her.”
