On Sunday’s episode of “Face the Nation,” the panel spent a significant amount of time trying to justify fired FBI director James Comey’s leaking of information through a friend to the New York Times with the goal of getting a special prosecutor appointed.
The panel’s laissez-faire, “this is just how it works” attitude is likely to upset Trump supporters who are outraged at Comey’s behavior.
“What Comey did was pull back the curtain on something that is a fairly regular process in this town,” said one panelist. “It’s not clean, it doesn’t look pretty, but it’s what happens day-to-day here.”
