Late night host Stephen Colbert is refusing to apologize for his crude joke about President Trump made last week — but he may be facing serious repercussions for his remarks soon.

The Federal Communications Commission received “a number” of complaints about Colbert’s vulgar comments, which have caused the agency to open an investigation into whether the host’s remarks are “obscene” and punishable by law.

Ajit Pai promised to “take the appropriate action” once the investigation is complete.
