“The Daily Show’s” Trevor Noah appeared on Van Jones’ CNN show Wednesday night and made an outrageous comment against conservatives: that he actively tries not to empathize with them.
“Sometimes I worry about it, but the thing I’ve come to realize is, you’ve got to be careful that you don’t push it so far that you are empathizing,” said Noah. “You should understand where people are coming from, but be careful of putting yourself in their position, because then you will justify why people do what they do. Things that you may not agree with.”
The host continued, “When I’m making the show, I’m trying to find like-minded individuals who agree with what I’m saying and I’m trying to find people who may slightly disagree, people who are in the middle.”
