Political analyst Mark Halperin doubled down on his statement that “outside of the Civil War, World War II, and including 9/11, [Donald Trump’s election] may be the most cataclysmic event the country has ever seen,” when he appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
When Colbert asked him about that statement, which he said before the election, Halperin said “I might have understated it.”
