A clip from 2014 has surfaced that shows Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, bragging about how a “lack of transparency” got the bill passed.

During the panel discussion, Gruber is heard saying a “lack of transparency is a political advantage,” and “bragged about writing the bill with the goal of fooling the Congressional Budget Office, setting the stage for Obamacare’s eventual passing,” according to the Daily Caller.

“This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes,” said Gruber. ““This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes.”
