In a video going viral online, Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Perriello is seen likening President Donald Trump’s election to the September 11th terror attacks.
In the video, taken in early February, one can hear Perriello saying “The election of Donald Trump was a little bit like, you know, a political and constitutional September 11 for us, let’s be honest.”
Perriello has since apologized for the comparison, saying in a tweet, “I regret the comparison and apologize. Won’t do it again.” Watch the disturbing comparison above.
