“Goji berries are a nightshade food. The nightshade family of fruits and veggies is known to increase heat in the body. Because of this, goji berries (and other nightshade foods) can worsen arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. Also, when goji berries are combined with certain medications (such as those for diabetes, blood thinner, or blood pressure), there may be adverse reactions. Ask your professional health care provider if it is OK to consume nightshades.
