Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that the suicide bomber who set off an explosive during a Kurdish wedding this weekend was between the ages of 12 and 14 years old.

The attack, which occurred late Saturday in the southeastern city of Gaziantep, killed 51 people and injured 69.

Gaziantep is located close to the Syrian border, and the wedding took place in a conservative Kurdish neighborhood. Erdogan has called the act a terrorist attack, saying ISIS is the prime suspect as they have been looking to secure a position in the city where the bombing occurred, reports CNN.

Turkey has frequently been plagued with violent attacks and political unrest, but this weekend’s wedding attack ranks as one of the deadliest. The wedding death toll surpasses that of another suspected ISIS attack in June, when militants attacked Istanbul’s airport with guns and bombs, killing 44.

Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek also pinned the attack on ISIS, using the Arabic term “Daesh” to refer to the group. “This was a barbaric attack. It appears to be a suicide attack. All terror groups — the PKK, Daesh, the [Gulen movement] — are targeting Turkey. But God willing, we will overcome,” he said to NTV television, according to Fox News.

Police have sealed off the area of the bombing, where hundreds of Turks have gathered — yelling “Allah is great” as well as other slogans condemning the attacks, reports Fox News.
