“Divorce” can be one of the most common words written by those who cover Hollywood.

As happy as many celebrity couples may seem together, the marriage success rate for Tinseltown isn’t exactly stellar. It could be the numerous temptations that come with great success — or the constant traveling and time away from home required for the jobs of successful filmmakers, actors, musicians, and others.

Whatever the reason, divorce attorneys get plenty of work in L.A. However, there are shining examples of Hollywood marriages that lasted decades — and served as an example of the stability that holy matrimony can bring to life.

Here’s a look at three marriages in Hollywood that lasted far longer than most.

1). Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. The parents of Ben and Amy Stiller were married from 1954 to 2015, when Meara unfortunately passed away at age 85.

For 60-plus years, the two were partners in life and in comedy as they regularly appeared together on programs such as “The Ed Sullivan Show” in the ’60s and ’70s to share in some laughs.

The two met after Meara came out of an agent’s office — in tears — in the early 1950s. Stiller was in the waiting room and offered to take her out for coffee. The rest is history.

“There were no walls between us in any way. We both knew what the other was thinking even when we weren’t listening,” Stiller told Closer Weekly in 2015 about his wife after her passing. “We also shared the same desire to be in front of an audience and make people laugh.” (go to page 2 to continue reading)[lz_pagination]
