In a recent interview on CNN’s “The Axe Files,” actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg revealed that she refuses to refer to Donald Trump as “President Trump.”

The outspoken liberal said she is unwilling to use the word “president” in conjunction with Trump’s name.

She added that if “people don’t like that I don’t do it, I’m fine with that.”

The television host acknowledged she has had a “cordial” relationship with Trump over the years. The two appeared in 1994’s “Little Rascals” and have been friendly in the past.

Goldberg revealed that her feelings toward the man began to sour when he questioned former President Barack Obama’s place of birth.

“I know he went to school and I know he knows that Hawaii was part of the United States. And I know that the real bottom line of that conversation was how can he be our president, and it’s like, ‘Listen, man. He [Obama] won,'” she said.

That exact comment contradicts Goldberg’s own feelings about not referring to Trump as the current sitting president of the United States. She wanted him to stop asking questions about Obama’s place of birth and accept that he was the president — so how about Goldberg stop living in her own reality and accept that Trump is president now?

The comedian was later asked if she had a message for President Trump, to which she said no. She did, however, have a message for those who work with and around the president.

“Change is coming, and it’s not coming because it’s even ideological, it’s coming because you’re endangering, you’re allowing things that endanger our children, our country, our air,” said Goldberg.

This star apparently has a visceral, emotional reaction to the man’s position of power, something that likely clouds her ability to see positions and policy fairly.

No matter how she refers to him, Trump is the president. That’s a fact.

So how about instead of continuing this sense of division and conflict in which people refuse to acknowledge the president or to reach across the aisle, people instead start engaging with each other and, you know — living in reality?
