If there’s one thing Hollywood likes to bankroll right now, it’s anti-Trump content.

The latest project aimed at trying to take down this president is a documentary series from Vice that Tom Arnold — actor, comedian, and ex-husband of Trump supporter Roseanne Barr — will host.

“The Hunt for the Trump Tapes” will show Arnold as he takes a deep dive into everything President Donald Trump has done and said in front of a camera over the course of his professional career. The goal is to find a “gotcha” tape of sorts, something similar to the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape from the 2016 presidential election.

“The host [Arnold] will draw on his high-profile network of celebrity friends, entertainment executives, and crew members he’s met over more than 35 years in showbiz to dig for evidence on Trump’s most incriminating moments — and, being a comedian and all, he’ll have a little fun along the way,” says the official announcement for the series.

“Nobody thought I could ever be an investigative journalist, but then again, nobody thought Donald Trump could be president,” Arnold said in a press release. “Let’s hope this marks the end of both our new careers.”

Out of all the recent Trump-focused projects lately, this one seems the lamest and most desperate.

Does Arnold actually think he will find such a tape (especially after the mainstream media have been looking for such things for literally years)? And even if he found this tape, what is the end goal?

It’s a strange concept, to say the least — and one likely to appeal only to those on the far Left, a group of voters still obsessed with the fantasy of booting a duly elected president out of office, no matter what it takes.
