Television is about to get a lot more even-handed.

Currently there are more left-leaning programs on the small screen than one can count: “Saturday Night Live,” “Our Cartoon President,” every single late-night show — on and on it goes.

The landscape changed a bit when “Roseanne” returned and scored huge ratings by dropping the expected political agendas and instead tackled hot-button cultural issues through a right-leaning protagonist.

Now another right-leaning sitcom is making its return to the small screen, with Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing.”

The show was suspiciously canceled last year, but is now returning for a seventh season, thanks to Fox.

“Last Man Standing” follows the adventures of Mike Baxter (Allen), an old-school conservative patriarch trying to catch up to an increasingly politically correct and high-tech world, all while trying to raise his daughters and share some wisdom with them.

Allen revealed in a recent interview he’s excited about some of the potential stories he and his team will get to tackle in the new season. One of those will be gun control.

“We have so much left in our tank. There were a lot of stories we hadn’t gotten to,” Allen told Closer Weekly. He added that since his character “owns a sporting-goods store that has firearms,” they’ll need to figure out a way to tackle the gun debate in a unique way.

“We’re going to have to deal with that somehow.”

Let’s hope the dominance of extreme leftist-driven writing becomes a thing of the past.

The “Roseanne” revival enjoyed success for a reason. The show took on the opioid crisis, health care, Trump, and so much more — and audiences loved it. They likely appreciated the program’s unique angle. It dropped the leftist agenda found on most programs today and took on issues in a more evenhanded and character-driven way.

With the return of “Last Man Standing” and a second season of the “Roseanne” revival on the way, pop culture fans should see more and more viewpoints represented on television — and hope that the dominance of extreme leftist-driven writing becomes a thing of the past.
