Yet another entertainment personality has come away from a personal meeting with Donald Trump and found him to be far more informed, engaging, and sincere than the mainstream media would have anyone believe.

Television personality and comedian Steve Harvey met with the president-elect at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Friday — and the “Family Feud” host walked away with nothing but positive things to say.

“The transition teams on both sides asked me to meet and I’m glad I did,” said Harvey in a statement posted to Twitter. “I found him in our meeting both congenial and sincere.”

The conversation between Trump and Harvey focused on programs and housing projects within inner cities. Harvey said Trump involved Dr. Ben Carson, his nominee for secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in the conversation via telephone.

“I walked away feeling like I had just talked with a man who genuinely wants to make a difference in the area. I feel that something great could come out of this,” Harvey said in his statement.

The meeting with Harvey and the positive discussion about issues vital to inner cities serve as a stark contrast to the picture of Trump that many in the media adhere to no matter what. Trump not only met with Harvey to discuss issues like the development of cities like Chicago, he had a similar meeting with rapper Kanye West back in December.

“I wanted to meet with Trump to discuss multicultural issues. These included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago,” West tweeted about the meeting.

“I feel that something great could come out of this,” Harvey said in a statement.

Harvey said his motivation to reach out to Trump came from the words of President Obama. “Our president asked that all of us sit down and talk to one another in order to move our country forward.”

Harvey — a previous supporter of Obama and critic of Trump — exemplified in his meeting with the president-elect how public figures such as himself can help the country in a positive, healthy manner, despite past disagreements or alternate political views.

While far too many celebrities whine and threaten martial law and even impeachment, Harvey’s move sets a far more positive tone just days before America’s new president is inaugurated.
