In an interview on Sunday, actor Stephen Baldwin noted that he has not spoken with his brother, actor Alec Baldwin, since the November presidential election — due to their completely different political viewpoints.

Baldwin, 50, and his older brother Alec (who turned 59 earlier this month) have butted heads over President Donald Trump — and apparently the tension is so thick that Stephen had not yet wished his brother a happy birthday.

“Now to be honest with you, I haven’t even spoken to my own brother since the election,” Stephen said on “Fox & Friends.” He then turned to the camera and exclaimed, “So happy birthday, Alec! Love you!”

Stephen has publicly supported President Trump, while his brother has made fun of the sitting president by satirizing him on “Saturday Night Live.” The fact that two siblings cannot get beyond politics to have a relationship — and granted, they’re celebrities — speaks to a larger issue of polarization occurring in this country.

On Saturday, Alec Baldwin returned to “SNL” and spoofed the president yet again; he also portrayed Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly. “I think it’s funny in a bad way,” Stephen said of the Trump impersonation on “Fox & Friends,” adding, “Early on during the campaign, I thought that ‘SNL’ was getting a little too nasty.”

“‘SNL’ efforts are to try to drive up the young people, get them to receive the message, where they’re coming from — it’s already kind of an issue that’s already passed, in my opinion,” Stephen said. “Now we have to, really more than anything, focus on trying to support this president.”

In contrast to the spat between the Baldwin brothers, Stephen’s youngest daughter, Hailey Baldwin, 20, disagrees with her dad’s political views — but the young model hasn’t let that change the fact that family remains family.

“We didn’t see eye to eye,” Hailey recently told the British daily newspaper The Times. “It was a very big issue for me, but my dad’s still my dad. I would never let politics get in the way of family.”

“Hailey Baldwin has been vocal on her social media accounts about her own opinions of the Trump administration,” VanityFair.com noted. “On the day of the Women’s March on Washington, she posted an aerial view of the crowd on her Instagram, expressing her approval of the resistance.”

Still, she’s put politics aside in her relationship with her father.
