It’s that time again — time for the Kentucky Derby, held annually on the first Saturday of every May.

Each year the top 20 thoroughbreds compete in the 1 1/4-mile “Run for the Roses.”

The Kentucky Derby is the longest continually held sporting event in America, in addition to one of the most prestigious horse races in the world.
