Due out in early 2018 is “Chappaquiddick,” a film chronicling the infamous 1969 car crash by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy — which left a young woman dead.

The first trailer for the flick debuted Wednesday afternoon, and it shines a surprisingly negative, though honest, light on the Kennedy family.

This, in spite of the fact that the product comes out of an ultra-Left Hollywood.

Jason Clarke (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “White House Down”) takes on the role of Ted Kennedy, while Kate Mara (“The Martian,” “Shooter”) portrays Mary Jo Kopechne, the young political strategist who drowned inside Kennedy’s car at Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts, after he left the scene of his accident.

The film’s trailer highlights the ruthless nature of the Kennedy family as it frantically works to frame the situation to the public — and to help Ted Kennedy avoid a manslaughter charge. He was eventually convicted of leaving the scene of an accident and given a suspended sentence.

“This is unbelievable,” he said of the fact that such a movie would be approved from modern Hollywood, a place not so friendly to conservative artists or viewpoints.

He added, “This is going to be a blockbuster.”

Host Laura Ingraham of “The Ingraham Angle”  described her anticipation for the movie as akin to what some other people feel for new “Star Wars” pictures. “I am really excited,” she said. No doubt many conservative movie fans will feel the same.
