During a Sunday commencement speech at Dartmouth College, Mindy Kaling of “Ocean’s 8” and “The Office” did about the most original and imaginative thing a Hollywood leftist can do these days: She verbally attacked President Donald Trump.

“I’ll tell you my secret, the one thing that keeps me going, my superpower — delusion,” the 38-year-old said to a laughing crowd. “This is something I share with the president, a fact that is both horrifying and interesting.”

Kaling graduated from Dartmouth in 2001, and she went on to star in and produce such successful shows as “The Mindy Project.”

In her speech, she encouraged graduates to have “insane confidence” in themselves even if that confidence is not based in reality — because, after all, our current sitting president is proof of how far such confidence can take a person.

She also “joked” that President Trump may end up getting America into a war with Wakanda, the fictional African country portrayed in “Black Panther,” Marvel’s smash hit released earlier this year.

The rest of Kaling’s speech was far less political. She encouraged the newly minted graduates to follow their individual goals for happiness and to avoid stringent “checklists” that people often make when they’re young. She also encouraged women to support each other.

Imagine how much more impactful those latter messages would have and could have been if she’d decided to skip the dreadful and unnecessary political points altogether.
