Michael Moore has long been accused of making points that aren’t based on logic, but are instead sad and incendiary attempts at attention for himself and his projects.

He was called out for one of those points on Twitter by Donald Trump Jr., the president’s oldest son.

“Has [Donald Trump] opened up Mar-a-Lago as a shelter yet?” Moore tweeted on Friday — somehow trying to suggest and insinuate that the president was purposefully keeping needy people away from his Florida property, which could be used as a shelter.

The point went over well with Moore’s audience — the tweet received over 17,000 retweets. The big problem is this: It made no sense.

“It’s on an island on both the ocean & intercostal and in a mandatory evacuation zone … probably not the best idea, but you know, narrative!” wrote Trump Jr. to Moore on Twitter, slamming down any notion that the filmmaker had a clue what he was talking about in the first place.

A spokesman for the Trump Organization said in a statement last week, according to the Washington Examiner, that Trump properties in Florida “are taking all of the proper precautions … to ensure that everyone is kept safe and secure.”

The trouble with so many celebrities like Moore right now is that they have significant platforms — which they massage, manipulate, and use mercilessly to get attention, almost always for themselves and their projects. After turning a blind eye to former President Obama’s many misdoings, Moore has thrust himself aggressively back into the political and cultural conversation in light of Trump’s victory last November.

Moore released a documentary about the president and the 2016 election, has a one-man show about the president on Broadway, and also has an upcoming television series revolving around, you guessed it — President Trump.

The filmmaker is caught up in a left-wing, anti-President Trump hysteria that is preventing him, Moore, from using any sort of logic when criticizing those with whom he disagrees or differs. This recent tweet proves that in spades.
