Before the full facts surrounding the shooting at a Wednesday congressional baseball practice were even in, some people in Hollywood were already typing away on their social media accounts and doing their level best to politicize the event in Alexandria, Virginia.

“Too many stupid a**** in our country with too many f****** guns,” tweeted “Westworld” actor Jeffrey Wright.

Others such as Rosie O’Donnell have taken to retweeting and agreeing with liberal journalists and activists on Twitter who have been talking up gun control.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, is among those who were shot and injured on Wednesday morning by a gunman who has since died after Capitol Hill police returned fire in defense.

The suspect has been identified as James T. Hodgkinson of Illinois. The suspect apparently volunteered for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.

Rep. Mike Bishop (R-Ill.) told WWJ News Radio, “The only reason why any of us walked out of this thing, by the grace of God — one of the folks here had a weapon to fire back and give us a moment to find cover.”

Others at the field, such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), have praised the Capitol Hill police for quickly ending the shooting.

Not all in Hollywood politicized the event. Many took time to wish those affected the best — and appropriately left politics out of their messages.
