Hollywood is still living under the wing of Barack Obama — though he’s been out of office a year.

But if some of Tinseltown’s liberal elites were true to their leftist values, the former president would be considered a total failure, and A-listers would be doing their best to forget his presidency ever happened.

Obama, after all, is the same man who vowed to end the Middle East wars, but kept them going (with no clear strategy). He never closed Guantanamo as he promised, or took care of the border. The economy was also generally poor under his presidency, while the health care reform he passed was a mess for average Americans.

But Hollywood doesn’t care a whit about that. Obama spent eight years hobnobbing with the stars, giving shoutouts to his favorite rappers, hosting celebs at the White House, and chatting up the music on his iPod on shows like “The View.”

The president made Hollywood feel important — so it appears they’re now returning the favor by pretending his presidency was a success and that he’s still a star.

The latest example of this ongoing Obama worship comes from none other than David Letterman. The retired “Late Show” host has been working on a new Netflix talk show, which will tackle political and social issues, and its premiere has finally been announced for January 12. Guess who the first guest is? Yup. Former President Barack Obama.

Think Letterman will grill Obama about his hypocrisy, his empty campaign promises, his failures? Or is it more likely the two men will set there and rip apart our current president however they can?

After all, Letterman is a noted critic of President Donald Trump — and the show is likely to be little more than just another program aimed at attacking him.

Letterman has been out of the game awhile now, so perhaps he doesn’t realize that the last thing the world needs right now is another tired series that attacks Trump. There’s already “Saturday Night Live” and nearly every single late-night program, including the ones hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, and Samantha Bee. And oh, there’s also an upcoming show from Michael Moore and an animated comedy about the Trump presidency from Colbert.

It’s getting difficult to tell the difference among all of this anti-Trump content…

Letterman’s show will air six episodes (once a month), and other scheduled guests include Jay-Z, Howard Stern, Tina Fey, Malala Yousafzai, and George Clooney.

The series is reportedly titled “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.”
