Rapper Kendrick Lamar ended his acceptance speech for Best Rap Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards in New York City on Sunday night by endorsing (drumroll …) Jay-Z for president.

The comment was likely inspired by Jay-Z’s recent criticisms of the president — to which Trump actually responded over the weekend.

Said Lamar, “This is special, man. I got a lot of guys in this building [in attendance at Madison Square Garden Sunday night] that I still idolize today.”

He ended his speech with, “Jay for president.”

This, of course, follows Oprah Winfrey’s politically charged speech at the Golden Globes recently — and the resulting anti-Trump celebrities’ calling for her to run for president (which she has since said she has zero interest in doing).

Apparently, all that’s required for an endorsement for president from liberal celebrities these days is the action of taking public digs at Trump.

This all emerged after Lamar performed the opening act at the Grammys. His background singers were controversially dressed in Army fatigues — who fell to the ground after simulated gunshots went off on stage in front of an American flag.
