Isaiah Washington, the “Grey’s Anatomy” actor who was booted off the show by creator Shonda Rhimes years ago after making a homophobic slur, has issued a racial call to action.

Washington, 53, took to his Facebook page to post several notices advocating a protest on Sept. 26.

“Collectively we bring forth a solution.”

He’s asking for black people to stay home that day, to #shutitdown. His plan is to have an impact. What sort of impact? He hopes the economy will come to a screeching halt.

“Every African born in America is fed up, hurt, confused, saddened, and angry about the continued extrajudicial killings by public servants in our streets, so collectively we bring forth a solution,” he wrote.

“On Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, we are shutting down. No work. No school. No shopping for 24 hours. Our goal is to maintain the safety of our people, while significantly impacting America’s broken judicial system that is oppressing us by removing our labor, our bodies, and our money from it … for 24 hours. I ask everyone to follow.”

It’s also being called a #Blackout.

As for why Monday — maybe because it’s the date of the first presidential debate, which is being moderated by Lester Holt.

Washington’s statement included #RIPTerenceCrutcher, a reference to Terence Crutcher, the Tulsa, Oklahoma, man who was shot Friday night by a police officer who thought he was reaching for a weapon.

While word of the sick-out is definitely spreading, some of Washington’s followers are skeptical. Some just don’t get it, and others think it needs to be truly widespread to work.

One wrote that black NFL athletes refraining from playing Monday Night Football  “would be better.” Another said that elite black athletes in any sport who don’t play that day would make a difference.

Still another said she wanted to keep her job — and will leave the protest to the “rich and famous people.”
