Though “Roseanne” was swiftly canceled by ABC after a controversial tweet from its star, Roseanne Barr, it may now have a shot at a second life.

Former Donald Trump aide Michael Caputo recently spoke to The Daily Beast about an upcoming streaming platform he is involved with, called Bond — and revealed that he plans on reaching out to Barr “sooner rather than later” about continuing her show through the streaming service.

Bond is still in the early stages of development, but “Roseanne” is reportedly being used as an example of the type of programs the streaming service wants to host when it’s pitched to investors.

“Roseanne” had a big audience, and its ratings obviously show there’s a thirst for the program and others like it — but it’s impossible to tell whether it could continue through a streaming service like Bond because of so many unpredictable factors.

One of those factors is the cast around Barr. It’s hard to know at this point whether any of them would want to continue work on the series if it were to go to a new streaming platform.

Co-star John Goodman recently reacted to the show’s cancellation, but didn’t say a whole lot.

In a video taken at an auto repair shop in New Orleans, which was obtained by “Entertainment Tonight,” Goodman said he’d “rather say nothing than to cause more trouble.”

Barr has also had public trouble with some of the cast members since the fallout from her comments. After co-star and executive producer Sarah Gilbert distanced herself from Barr’s words on Twitter, Barr responded with, “Wow! Unreal.”

She later softened her stance and said, “No, I understand her position and why she said what she said. I forgive her. It just shocked me a bit.”

Co-star Michael Fishman also publicly distanced himself from Barr’s controversial tweet and said that the show they created together was often about inclusiveness.

Barr responded, “I created the platform for that inclusivity and you know. ME. You throw me under the bus. Nice!”

In reality, we will likely never see “Roseanne” return with original stories — which is a shame, as the show was so much better than one poor joke from a comedian.

But here’s hoping there is a future for these talented people and this show about inclusiveness and getting along with those with whom we disagree. A revival of the series would be rather poetic at this point.
