Fox News host Laura Ingraham exposed the Time’s Up movement as “an obvious political movement to organize against Republicans,” Tuesday night on “The Ingraham Angle.” And on Wednesday night, she explored additional evidence that suggests the assessment is right on the mark — with Meryl Streep, one of Time’s Up’s biggest supporters, figuring prominently in the story.

The liberal actress gave a dubious interview to The New York Times the other day in which she said, “I don’t want to hear about the silence of me [when asked why she had stayed silence for so long about the Harvey Weinstein allegations]. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump,” continued Streep. “I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka [Trump]. I want her to speak now.”

Raymond Arroyo, managing editor of EWTN News, characterized that interview as “self-preservation a là Hollywood,” adding that Streep “has a lot to answer for.”

Disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein worked with Streep on a number of films, including “The Iron Lady” and “The Giver.” Arroyo noted that Weinstein’s involvement went far beyond production of the films in which Streep was also involved. The producer “helped shape them and practically directed them,” and Streep and Weinstein were “very close,” he said.

Actress Rose McGowan has accused Streep of remaining silent though she was aware of Weinstein’s abuse of industry colleagues — and Streep’s hypocrisy was on full display in the Times interview. Instead of addressing her own silence in the face of her awareness of what had occurred, she instead accused both first lady Melania Trump and Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, of remaining silent — insisting outrageously that she “wants to hear from” both women.

Streep tried to divert the attention to political matters. It’s not only hypocritical but also calculated, as “The Ingraham Angle” pointed out. It is part and parcel of the Time’s Up movement’s true goals — to do all they can to topple President Donald Trump however they can and usher in Democratic leaders to take his place.

“It’s an attempt to collectively wash their hands of the guilt and scapegoat people like Melania and Ivanka Trump,” said Arroyo. “Last time I checked, Melania and Ivanka Trump weren’t in any Harvey Weinstein films, nor did they work closely with him.”

“They allowed this sexual predator to roam free, to ruin careers.”

“She called him ‘God’,” Ingraham noted, referring to Streep’s praise of Weinstein during the 2012 Golden Globes awards ceremony. During last year’s Golden Globes, Streep also took the opportunity to denigrate Donald Trump.

As for the Time’s Up movement, Ingraham said, “It’s a front group for left-wing activists.”

Arroyo called the movement an attempt by Hollywood to “absolve itself of its guilt and silence.”

“They allowed this sexual predator to roam free, to ruin careers,” Ingraham said.

Wednesday on TMZ, actor Paul Sorvino, father of Academy Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino, expressed his feelings about the Weinsteins, who were reportedly responsible for attempting to tank his daughter’s career. Sorvino said Weinstein should wish he was in jail, because if Sorvino ran into him on the street, Weinstein would wind up “lying on the floor … somehow, magically.”

“Sorvino is justifiably upset. They destroyed this woman’s career,” Arroyo said of the Weinstein brothers’ treatment of Mira Sorvino. Directors Peter Jackson and Terry Zwigoff have both confirmed Sorvino’s report of the Weinsteins’ attempted blacklisting, according to an article in Wednesday’s Entertainment Weekly.

“They’re all frauds,” Ingraham said of Time’s Up’s leadership. “We know exactly what they covered up and exactly what they knew because they didn’t want their own careers rocked and they wanted Harvey’s help.”

Meanwhile, the Time’s Up movement, led by some of the same women who allegedly covered up for Weinstein and others, continues to solicit donations while pointing fingers at President Trump’s wife and daughter.
