‘Fox & Friends’ Co-Host Responds to Being Called a ‘Creep’ by Kimmel

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) was not the only person late-night host Jimmy Kimmel had in his sights in a Wednesday-night monologue aimed at the new Graham-Cassidy health care bill.

After being called part of the “Hollywood elite” by “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade following Kimmel’s initial monologue against the bill and against Sen. Cassidy earlier in the week, Kimmel responded Wednesday night by calling Kilmeade a “phony little creep.”

The late-night host also said, “This is a guy, Brian Kilmeade, who whenever I see him kisses my a** like a little boy meeting Batman.”

Kimmel added that Kilmeade has begged him for a book blurb once and called up Kimmel’s agent constantly asking about new “projects.”

Kilmeade responded calmly in a video posted to the social media sites of “Fox & Friends” on Thursday by clearing up what seemed to be a few exaggerations by Kimmel.

“Last night, Jimmy Kimmel personally attacked me,” Kilmeade said, adding that he did not watch Kimmel’s program live because of his morning radio show, but he did see a video clip later of the late-night host talking about him.

“This is what I would like to say on this,” continued Kilmeade. “Hope your son gets better.” (Kimmel’s son needed open-heart surgery in May due to a congenital heart defect.) “Hope your son gets all the care he needs. I’m glad you’re interested … You’re doing a great job bringing the dialogue out, but you should actually do what we’re doing — talk to the people that wrote [the health care bill].”

Kilmeade continued, “About me and you personally — yeah, I did this thing called ‘request an interview from an up-and-coming talk-show host who did a great job on Fox Sports,’ and even when you weren’t getting great ratings, I thought you and the show were excellent.”

Kilmeade said he had also met Kimmel at an ‘American Idol’ finale taping, during which Kimmel had given Kilmeade an interview.

“I thought you did a good job. I wasn’t kissing your butt,” said Kilmeade about the experience.

The “Fox & Friends” co-host also revealed Kimmel was mistaken in saying Kilmeade had begged for a book blurb. Kilmeade revealed he had actually wanted to give Kimmel the opportunity to be in his book, “It’s How You Play the Game,” which was about people involved in sports and the lessons they’d taken away from their experiences.

Other celebrities Kilmeade asked to be involved in the project included Dwayne Johnson, former President George W. Bush, and Robin Williams — all of whom accepted his invitation and had their experiences included in the book.

Kilmeade ended his video by saying to Kimmel, “You do a great job. Best of luck with your son.”

In the war of words between Kilmeade and Kimmel, one man is coming across as a gracious, calm and collected individual. The other is coming across — well — as an insulting, smug and privileged Hollywood elitist.
